- Club and international team-mates have wished him many happy returns
- The Spanish midfielder stayed on the bench during the 4-0 win over West Ham
Ander Herrera will hope it’s a case of one-year older, one-year wiser after turning 28 on Monday.
The Manchester United star midfielder received well wishes from club and country team-mates David de Gea and Juan Mata on social media.
De Gea shared a picture of the pair of them together, while Juan Mata posted a snap of a fresh-faced Herrera, kicking back in a stripy jumper with the hashtag ‘Cute’.

The Spanish midfielder was an unused substitute in United’s convincing start to the new Premier League campaign on Sunday.
Romelu Lukaku struck twice on debut, with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba also finding the back of the net in a 4-0 win over West Ham.
Though Herrera was left on the bench he did feature in last week’s Super Cup final defeat by Real Madrid in Skopje.
The former Athletic Bilbao man has emerged as a key man at Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho last summer.
The Spain international made 50 appearances last year as United secured a cup double with victories in the EFL Cup and Europa League.
